Stephen D. Nugent N.M.D., Ph.D., P.D.D., M.A., C.N.C.

• Dr. Nugent retired from one of the most successful Complementary Medicine practices in North America after more than 20 years.
• During his career he clinically tested more than 6000 nutritional products.
• He has done thousands of lectures to educate health professionals and layman all over North America, Asia and Europe about the dangers to their health from environmental toxins and new super bugs. 
• 
  He is the principal inventor of a highly successful system, which was the worlds first nutrition system specifically developed to support glycemic index dieting.He is also the principal formulator for nearly three hundred nutritional products.

 

Professional Contributions and Affiliations

• He is President Emeritus of the largest association for natural health care practitioners in the Western Hemisphere, the American Naturopathic Medical Association, (ANMA). The ANMA is the only association for Naturopaths, which is recognized by the World Association for Alternative Medicine. 
• He is a life member of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants (AANC)
• Former member of the Great Lakes College of Clinical Medicine.
• A former member of the Oklahoma Association of Naturopathic Medicine.
• A former member of the Texas Association of Naturopathic Medicine.
• He is a life member of both the University of Michigan Alumni Association and the National University Alumni Association.
• Certified by the American Naturopathic Certification Board (ANCB) as a Certified Traditional Naturopath (CTN)  

Education

Dr. Nugent began his career in health care as a nutrition consultant in 1977. He has since earned eight university degrees, (including three doctorates), graduating with honors at both the undergraduate and graduate level. While serving his country as an active duty U.S. Marine he completed his Associates, Bachelors and Masters degrees at National University San Diego and Vista, California Campuses. He not only took full time, but during some quarters, he even took double time course work, in residence at National and graduated with honors.

Broadcaster and Internationally Respected Professional Lecturer

• For more than 11 years he has averaged more than 285 days on the road each year and in 2006 he was on the road a record 340 days lecturing in 11 countries.
• A classically trained speaker and broadcaster Dr. Nugent has logged thousand of hours of airtime.
• Trained at the United States Defense Information School (DINFOS) in all forms of electronic media broadcasting and journalism while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
• He did voice over narration for Marine Corps training films, daily newscasts and congressional reports as well as thousands of radio commercials for civilian radio stations.
• He has been referred to by many in his audiences as the “Voice of God”.
• He began public speaking and broadcasting in 1977.
• He hosted his own Ask the Doctor show for eight years in Detroit, MI. (WPON)
• He hosted a Talk show for ABC radio in Detroit for three years (WXYZ).

Continuing Medical Education Instructor

• Dr. Nugent has created several courses which quality for Category 1 Continuing Medical Education for Medical and Osteopathic physicians and nurses as well as other licensed health care practitioners. He teaches these courses as often as the schedule allows and has educated doctors, nurses and pharmacists in several countries.

 

Author and Science Writer

Dr. Nugent is noted for writing only that information which can be scientifically validated.

• He is the author of “How To Survive on a Toxic Planet”. This book is being sold in 10 countries and is now in the third printing of its second edition.
• He is the author of “The Missing Nutrients”. This book is also being sold in 12 countries and is now in its second edition and is currently available in 5 languages.
• For many years he published “Nugent’s Physician’s Desk Reference for Applied Clinical Nutrition”. This reference covered more than 200 health problems and the natural therapies, as well as dietary requirements, predisposing conditions and medical referral and testing data where appropriate. Thousands of doctors have used this reference as their guide to natural therapies.
• He has been a major contributor and research analyst for the Balancing Body Chemistry Group publications.  The publications include; “Analyzing the SMA 25 and CBC with Differential for Nutritional Needs”. A second manual is titled, “Nutritional Protocols That Work”.  Thousands of doctors are using these manuals.  The blood chemistry manual gives doctors insight on blood tests for illnesses, that they never conceived possible from their orthodox medical school training.  It then tells the doctors which nutrients may be deficient based on the blood tests along with recommended protocols.
• For many years he published his own monthly health newsletter called the “NUGENT REPORT”, which was read by doctors and patients in eleven countries. In addition, he periodically writes articles and science papers for other publications.
• He was a keynote speaker for the US National Anti-aging conference in May, 2005.

 

Personal Profile

Dr. Nugent was not born into privilege, but with his training and education knows how to relate to anyone at any socioeconomic level. His exceptional communication skills have made him enormously popular with audiences in twelve countries.

Dr. Nugent’s life is dedicated to public service. His charity work has had  positive impact on the lives of many children worldwide with Dr. Nugent’s House of Hope Program which is currently supporting the needs of several orphanages and many medically fragile children in underprivileged families, and he is seeking to add more orphanages to his program.

A former U.S. Marine, Nugent is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and a life member of the American Legion.  Born and raised in Detroit Michigan, he currently resides in Texas, but truly is a citizen of the world.
